Frequently Asked Q’s
-
I work with people navigating anxiety, attachment distress, trauma, intrusive thoughts, body image stress, relationship concerns, and the emotional impact of chronic health or pelvic pain conditions. I typically work with clients who meet the diagnostic criteria for C-PTSD/PTSD, BPD, OCD, ADHD, and Autism. Therapy is also a container for personal growth, identity exploration, and building steadier coping tools.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, self-critical, or emotionally overloaded — therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis. Many people come simply because they want more clarity, insight, relief, and support. Therapy can often be a helpful checkpoint, a space to mindfully pause and reflect.
-
That’s absolutely valid and a very common experience/concern. A different therapist, approach, or modality can make a meaningful difference. A different energetic fit can sometimes make all the difference. We’ll talk about what didn’t work before so we can do it differently and make pivots as needed.
-
My style is warm, collaborative, playful, and grounded. I balance emotional support with practical tools. Sessions are conversational, but purposeful and deliberate— you won’t be left drifting, and you won’t be pushed faster than you’re ready for.
-
The first session is a gentle starting point. We talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been dealing with, what you want to change, and what support has or hasn’t worked before. There’s no pressure to share everything at once.
-
Most clients start weekly. As progress builds, some shift to bi-weekly or maintenance sessions. We decide together based on your needs and goals.
Sessions are offered via secure telehealth, and sessions are offered in-person. This allows flexibility and comfort while maintaining privacy and effectiveness.
-
Not at all. Many clients start with “I don’t even know where to begin.” That’s completely okay — we figure it out together.
-
Yes. Along with insight and emotional processing, I offer practical tools for anxiety regulation, intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system calming when helpful. I pull from a variety of creative and evidence-based techniques and believe that the most important modality in therapy is the relationship between patient and provider.

Just like bubble gum stretches, healing spaces should stretch to meet people where they are, and that is something our practice takes seriously.
This practice uses a tiered pricing model rooted in accessibility and collective care. Our broader healthcare system often creates financial barriers to therapy. This structure is one small way to help redistribute access while sustaining the work of the practice.
Clients are invited to choose the tier that best reflects their current financial resources, access to financial safety, and relationship to privilege. No proof is required—only honesty and care for the collective.
Community Bubble Tier:
Individual Therapy: 175.00
Couples/Family Therapy: 175.00
Group Therapy: 175.00
Narrative Therapy: 175.00
For clients who may be navigating financial strain, student status, early career income, debt, or limited financial safety nets.
These sessions are offered at a reduced rate and are supported by higher tiers.
A limited number of Community Bubble spots are available, and community bubble spots are able to be kept up to 16 weeks (4 months of weekly therapy sessions). We operate on a rotating schedule so as to give other individuals a chance to obtain a community bubble spot.
True Cost Bubble Tier:
This tier reflects the true cost of providing therapy, including clinical training, ongoing education, administrative work, consultation, and the sustainability of the practice.
Individual Therapy: 340.00
Couples/Family Therapy: 340.00
Group Therapy: 340.00
Narrative Therapy: 340.00
Solidarity Bubble Tier:
For clients with greater financial flexibility who would like to help expand access to therapy for others. Choosing this tier helps sustain Community Bubble spots.
Individual Therapy: 425.00
Couples/Family Therapy: 425.00
Group Therapy: 425.00
Narrative Therapy: 425.00
Pro-Bono Bubble Tier:
Two pro-bono therapy spots are maintained within the practice as part of a commitment to collective care and accessibility. These spaces are intended for individuals navigating significant financial barriers to accessing mental health support. Pro-Bono Bubble spots are able to be kept up to 16 weeks (4 months of weekly therapy sessions). We operate on a rotating schedule so as to give other individuals a chance to obtain a Pro-Bono Bubble spot.

Bubble Gum Therapy is not in-network with any insurance company.
While insurance can make care more accessible in some ways, it also requires therapists to follow strict medicalized models of mental health care, including assigning diagnoses, limiting session length or frequency, and sharing personal information with insurance companies. The above parameters of insurance companies are often detrimental to my clients and negate the holistic person-centered collaboration that we deeply prioritize here at Bubble Gum Therapy.
To protect client privacy and provide care that is comprehensive, relational, and not constrained by insurance requirements, I choose to remain out-of-network. We are happy to provide you with a super-bill in the event you would like to submit to insurance for reimbursement, if you have out-of-network benefits. If you are unclear on what out-of-network coverage or benefits mean, or if you have them, our office is happy to support with your insurance questions.
I recognize that this creates financial barriers within a healthcare system that is already inequitable. To help address and counter this, I offer sliding-scale, pro-bono, and solidarity pricing options to allow individuals to receive the care they deserve at a price point that feels accessible and feasible for them.

We require 48-hours advance notice if you plan to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This means if you have an appointment with us at 8AM EST on a Wednesday and you cannot make it, you must notify our office by 8AM EST on the Monday before. Here at Bubble Gum Therapy, we value everyone’s time and commitment to this work. If you are unable to successfully cancel or reschedule in time, you will be charged the full session fee.

You can reach out through the contact form or email to schedule a consultation or first appointment. I’ll respond with next steps and availability.
-
Yes. Therapy is private and confidential with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or abuse of a minor or vulnerable person). I review this clearly in the first session.
-
All of you is welcome here. Emotions are not a problem — they are data. We slow things down and regulate together when needed. We work to figure out pacing that honors where you are at and what you need in every session.
-
Yes. I support clients coping with chronic symptoms, medical uncertainty, body stress, and the emotional toll that health conditions and the medical industrial complex can bring. Therapy can help reduce symptoms of medical anxiety and can help you foster more agency, autonomy, and resilience around your advocacy and your treatment.
-
With your written permission, I can coordinate with psychiatrists, physicians, or other care providers to support integrated care. This is also discussed in our first session together, and the collaboration of care always includes your consent. There are times when Bubble Gum Therapy does not require your consent to reach out to another individual on your care team or an emergency contact, such as if we do not hear from you in a timely manner and are worried about your safety.
